(1) If someone does not file the fantwari required to be filed according to section 13 or section 16, or if he files an incomplete fantwari or if he knowingly files a false fantwari, the relevant land will be confiscated by the order of the designated authority. But–
(a) In the case of Bhog or Drishtibandha land, if neither the creditor nor the asami has submitted the Fantwari, by the order of the designated authority, the legal recognition of the creditor's lien on the land will disappear and such land will also be confiscated.
(b) Before confiscating the relevant land, the concerned person should be given an opportunity to explain why the confiscation should not take place, and after examining the relevant evidence submitted by the concerned person, the designated authority will decide whether or not to confiscate the relevant land.
(2) If someone obstructs the designated officer or the employee assigned to work on his behalf in the land acquisition work according to section 15, the person who opposes such obstruction shall be ordered by the designated officer to pay Rs. 50,000.- shall be fined up to fifty thousand or imprisoned up to 6 months or both.
